Imentioned in a previous post that I am staying down at the end of an alleyway in central Saigon. The alley and the people who live there essentially function as a small village. A balcony runs the whole way around the building where I am. I’ve sat out eating or having coffee at different spots at all times of the day and night. Everyone knows everyone in this little area. If someone needs something the neighbour will help them out and vice versa. People go about their daily business with one another while the kids play. A few roosters or chickens are always clucking. The travelers staying here come and go with barely a glance from the locals. And their nice hotel gets a mention gratis in a free travel blog.
