This whole country wakes up insanely early. I had a morning obligation today. As I walked out of where I’m staying at 6 AM I was looking forward to seeing how Saigon looked before everyone was hustling and bustling all over the place. No such luck. Gridlock traffic. Sidewalks packed with stalls. It struck me that if they’re up, coffee’ed, commuted, and have their stalls set up everywhere, or they’re on their way to work at 6 AM, then they must have to get up at a ridiculous hour every day since they almost all work 7 days a week here.

Relatively soon this traveling blog will take on more of a personal blog feel to it as I return home to Canada for a little while.
